PHYLLIS MCCOY
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Phyllis opened Elph’s Accounting Services in January 1993. Providing full service accounting, payroll, and corporate and personal tax returns, specializing in small business returns. In 2010, after the passing of her mother, her husband, Elmer, retired and sold the accounting portion of the business to concentrate on tax preparation.
Phyllis has lived in Brunswick County since 1964. She graduated from Shallotte High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNC-W) until 1972. At which time she began her income tax preparation career working for H&R Block of Shallotte. She worked with H&R Block for 10 years before taking a corporate position in accounting, payroll and tax services for 6 years. In 1989 she returned to college and obtained an associates degree in Computer Programming. In 2013 she was certified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a “Registered Tax Return Preparer”. The designation used now when certified by the IRS as having completed a specific number of hours of continuing education is “Annual Filing Season Program” participant. Each year Phyllis attends at least 2 seminars for continuing education and attends classes administered through the IRS.
In 2018 Elphs Accounting celebrated 25 years of service and currently prepares over 2000 returns a year.
REBECCA HOLDEN

Rebecca is the creator of Holden Business Services and is an active associate of Elph's Accounting Services. Having worked with Phyllis during the taxation portion of her studies she was delighted at the opportunity to return as a full-time associate in 2017.
Rebecca and her husband, who is native to of Brunswick County, returned to the area upon completion of his tour of duty in the military. She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, as well as, Gardner-Webb University obtaining bachelor’s and MBA degrees in accounting.
She has a background in banking with knowledge in insurance, securities, and mortgage lending. Rebecca has worked for the North Carolina Community College system as an accounting instructor and high school liaison. She currently serves on the Brunswick Community College Accounting Advisory Board and works with local NCWorks representatives to create programs for aspiring accountants to gain the experience they need to start their careers.
GINA RABON
ASSOCIATE | GINA'S PAYROLL SERVICES
Gina is a native to Brunswick County. She graduated from Brunswick Community College with an associates degree in Business Administration and has been doing payroll since 1998.
In 2013 she began Gina's Payroll Services, offering payroll, W-2, 1099, quarterly report and sales tax reporting for business and non profits.
ELMER MCCOY
MR. IMPORTANT
Elmer is Phyllis' husband and they've been married since 1982. He is a retired truck driver and an essential part of Elph's Accounting Service. He's often called "Mr. Important" for his total support for the office. He does everything from being the "gopher", mowing grass and the essential lunch run. We couldn't do it without him!
